Plants as model organisms in inquiry science education in primary education
JINDROVÁ, Aneta
Research-oriented teaching is an attractive way of teching (not only) science subjects. At the first stage of primary school, it is an opportunity for developing students' research abilities. Plants are a suitable subject with which simple experiments, observations and research activities can be performed. The aim of the work is not only to find the possibility of using plant material in students' science research during teaching, but also to evaluate how research activities are accepted by students, how they are able to solve problems and how creative they are in solving research tasks. The work should show the possibilities of combining standard tasks based on plant observation with tasks based on different levels of research activity. The diploma thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. I approached this thesis in four steps. In the first step the curriculum and content of selected textbooks are analyzed with a focus on the issue of learning about living nature, in the second step the educational offer is presented, in the next step the proposed educational offer is verified with simultaneous monitoring and analysis of students 'research tasks and pupils' creativity. In the last step, the results of the survey are evaluated and the obtained data are interpreted. The diploma was drawn up as part of a project GAJU 123/2019/S.
Využití SITCOMŮ k rozvoji komunikační kompetence žáků
HANZAL, Jaroslav
The aim of this dissertation is to investigate to what extent the usage of sitcoms (meaning situational comedies) could contribute to the development of the communicative competence (CC) in learners of the English language (L2 learners). According to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), the communicative competence is divided into three parts: linguistic, sociolinguistic, and pragmatic. A sitcom is a type of comedy for which usually a limited number of characters deal with everyday situations and wit is based on their mutual communication. Therefore, it seems probable that the selection of appropriate scenes in English Language Teaching (ELT) may promote the development of CC. Apart from the evolution of linguistic competence, which entails mostly vocabulary, grammar, semantics, or pronunciation, working with an authentic discourse significantly stimulates sociolinguistic competence, focusing predominantly on the social interactions of interlocutors (superiority - subordination). Pragmatic competence is dealing with the ability to produce structured utterances that fulfill communication functions. The theoretic part of this dissertation is focused on the description of the communicative competence, the aims for teaching speaking according to Czech National Curriculum, and last but not least on introducing and analysing sitcoms. The practical part will involve short clips from sitcoms, which are appropriate to language proficiencies of L2 learners I am going to work with. The practical part contains lesson plans with activities aiming at the fullest possible development of the communicative competence. Each of the activities is examined with regards to the components of CC and the emphasis is placed upon sociolinguistic and pragmatic competencies.

Jakubička, Tomáš ; Černochová, Miroslava (advisor) ; Fialová, Irena (referee)
This diploma thesis is focused on pupils' motivation to learning in ICT at vocational secondary schools and colleges. The main educational goal of ICT as a subject is to develop pupils' ICT literacy. The theoretical part of this thesis deals with motivation as a pedagogical concept and appropriate teaching approaches to it. An analysis of ICT subjects in the curriculum of the Framework Education Programmes for vocational secondary schools and colleges contributes to form an integral part of the theoretical base. The empirical part is divided into three mini-surveys carried out at a vocational secondary school and training institution in Liberec. The first was a questionnaire for pupils to discover what motivates them to study ICT. The second was a questionnaire for teachers which aimed to find out if and how teachers apply and exploit pupils' ICT literacy in their teaching of vocational ICT as a specialist subject. The third element was interviews with ICT teachers with the aim of investigating how ICT teachers understand the role of ICT as a subject and how they develop their pupils' ICT literacy. The results of all three were then analysed in relation to the question, "What supports and helps motivate pupils to learn ICT?" The findings obtained were consequently applied in the design of...

I would highlight its asymmetry and dissonance. The analysis and then comparing is based on real data obtained from the survey. In most of schools there was personal visit. Results of survey may lead to accept/decline hypothesis that computer science education on high schools is below the level needed for a transition to the university system without any problems and to draw come recommentations and suggestins for improvements in computer science education on high schools. Since this work deals with education, it will also map the information technology enviroment in which most of activities connected with study are done.
